Taking place on Saturday May 3rd at the Playground Byron Bay, four pm through eleven pm, celebrating LGBTQIA+ creativity, community, and self-expression.
It's 2025 and we are being called to dance in the revolution. While it seems that the world is in crisis and chaos, we are reminded that joy, love and authenticity are the highest vibrational energies we have. So we, the Queer Ball team, are back and bigger than ever, to throw you an outta-this-world event. We are including our greatest artists, so we may dance our way into a world we want to live in.
Queer Ball Byron Bay is now in its sixth year and growing stronger than ever.
Every year we find a different venue to host us as we make our way around Bundjalung country, ensuring that we stay in flow like the river nation that hosts us.
We pride ourselves in supporting queer artistry, and our all around diverse, creative line-up. Queer ball started as a small, grassroots gathering with an intention to bring the community together. Now, this queer-run and queer-performed event has become a vital part of the region’s cultural calendar.
Attendance goes up each year, proving the demand for inclusive, safe spaces in rural areas like ours. These opportunities are vital, and allow us all to come together and be in joy.
Organised and hosted by local creative queer friends Brendy, Ella, and Jen, they bring their signature energy and charisma to the stage. Live musicians, DJs, drag artists, and artists create a night of high-energy entertainment and bold self-expression.
This year’s line up of DJs include: Dameeeela, Asha Franco, Sheila (Tjuana Cartel), Afrodesia, Aunty Oxidant & Crew. Live music by Danny Ingram and Juman. Other performances by: Miss Matoya, Alikeen Killer, Ropey Jen and Handemonium, plus many more.
